Sales Estimator (full-time)
Our client are an on-site paint spraying company based in Norwich.

They specialise in re-spraying cladding, roofs and shop fronts, as well as undertaking floor coatings, intumescent spraying and commercial decorations.

They are currently looking for a Sales Estimator to join their growing team.

The role will involve measuring and pricing industrial painting jobs, then converting them into orders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating whilst understanding the commercial drivers, risk profiles and key success factors for customers procuring construction works.

Technical knowledge of surface preparation and paint application techniques would be very desirable.

They undertake work Nationwide, so travelling to survey jobs around the UK will be required.

You would be required to come to the Norwich office at least 1 day a week.

Duties will include:

  • Carrying our site surveys and taking measurements
  • Creating bills of quantities for pricing
  • Assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information available to prepare tender
  • Working through tender documents and architectural drawings to price work
  • Working closely with the Technical Sales Director to build and maintain an extensive database of project leads and potential customers
  • Creating rates based on labour, plant, materials, overheads & profit
  • Estimating and winning profitable work
  • Completion and submission of PQQs
  • Post contract liaison with clients
  • Sub-contract negotiation
  • Building strong, long-lasting relationships with the Cladspray customer base to ensure ongoing and repeat business
  • Building supplier relationships to ensure excellent supplier support and best material prices
  • Following up existing quotes

Required Skills:

  • Able to take accurate on-site measurements and interpret drawings
  • Previous estimating and/or sales experience, with the ability to demonstrate competence in pricing from drawings/scales etc.
  • Excellent negotiator; with a dynamic, ambitious approach to sales and securing business
  • Sound knowledge of site health & safety procedures and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills, with an outgoing personality essential for dealing directly with customers and sub-contractors
  • High degree of personal motivation with the ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision
  • Flexibility with regard to working across all areas of the business, and hours to meet the requirements of this challenging position
  • Good IT skills – particularly Word and Excel
  • Full driving licence (maximum 6 points)


  • £30k - £40k plus bonus
  • Company car/car allowance
  • 20 days holidays plus UK Bank holidays
  • 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday typically, however flexibility is essential
