Maintenance Engineering Supervisor / Lead Engineer

Static Maintenance Lead Engineer / Supervisor (Electrical bias) - Lancashire - Facilities Provider - Salary DOE 

 

Key Responsibilities (Electrical service Engineer)

  • To manage the delivery of the engineering works on behalf of the clients, to support performance delivery, audit and compliance of legislation.
  • To support, monitor and review constantly, self-delivery and performance and as required review Risk Assessments.
  • To manage all planned and reactive maintenance activities, M&E and Fabric, throughout the region along with supporting the National Technical Manager & Regional Facilities manager
  • Ensure Completion of service report sheets, logbooks and certification  
  • Support the National Technical Manager & Regional Facilities Manager to ensure regional operational performance is optimised and engineering efficiency is at its maximum
  • Offer guidance and assistance to the account engineering team and regional team
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover if required at other locations within the region
  • Engineer development to ensure that a high-quality team is maintained including performance management, succession planning and personal development.
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients and key stakeholders
  • Deliver regular engineer and site audits
  • Ensure all statutory compliance PPM visits and certification is completed, issued and up to date for the site and support the region when required  
  • Deal with engineering issues on a daily basis and escalate where required
  • Carry out Back to Work interviews following periods of absence and manage HR processes
  • Carry out annual engineering team performance reviews.
  • Provide technical support to the region and assist in improving business efficiency without compromising compliance.
  • Manage SSOW, contractor control, Issue of permits to work and management of contractors to ensure delivery
  • Work alongside the project team and manage small works when required
  • Continuous engagement with the maintenance system and data management team to close out planned and reactive tasking.
  • Taking part in the on-call rota and attending emergency call outs
  • Overtime working as required.
  • Compliance with all statutory regulations
  • Ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, risk assessments, COSHH etc
  • Maintaining excellent levels of housekeeping in all areas of responsibility
 

Personal:

  • Committed, motivated and enthusiastic team player
  • Competence in the use of PC’s using Windows and a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, or similar applications
  • Good level of written and verbal communication skills and competent in use of email applications
  • Create, own and manage personal development plan
  • Maintain personal engineering knowledge in line with current standards and changing legislation
  • Conform to internal reporting procedures
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritise their workload
 

 

Qualifications:

  • Health and Safety qualification in IOSH managing safely or equivalent
  • Relevant City and Guilds / NVQ or trade specific certifications.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
  • IPAF (preferred)
  • PASMA (preferred)
  • Full driving license
 

Experiences:

 

  • 5 Year minimum experience in a maintenance engineering role
  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of Engineering legislation and codes of practice
  • Thorough understanding of Engineering installations, associated systems and certification
  • Ability to communicate with both non-technical users and technical team members
  • Ability to manage client expectations and deliver customer-focused solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facilities management and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Handheld Smart phone Technology and CAFM systems
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and proactive
  • Ability to manage priorities and projects
  • Proven track record of achievements
  • Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including RAMs
  • Experience of working in a blue-chip environment with diverse and complex M&E building services
  • Multi Skilled in all aspects of general maintenance
  • Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of building maintenance and minimum of City & Guilds level to NVQ level 2/3
