Remote Java Developer

Reporting to the Development Team Lead the Remote Java Developerl take part in a wide variety of green field projects with modern software approaches while at the same time taking the lead in maintaining a large customer facing legacy system. 

You will be familiar with front end development and have a very good knowledge in several specific legacy technologies such as PHP5 and Java 6 and you will gain exposure to modern development techniques such as .net6/C# as well as modern delivery mechanisms. 
Required skills

  • Java 6 / Spring 3 / Hibernate 3+ / jUnit 4
  • Maven / Ant
  • jQuery, CSS, HTML
  • SQL / MySQL
  • Source control in a team environment (Git or similar)
  • Familiarity with Linux

Duties and responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the legacy systems and implement software changes where needed.
  • Specify, implement, and support all front-end and back-end software development.
  • Contribute to development skills in your area and apply best engineering practices with other team members, and maintain code quality across applications
  • Deliver all outputs to the highest quality by participating in code reviews and working to achieve the business's objectives requested.
