Advocacy Projects Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocacy Projects Advisor to join our Governance and Influence team.

This role will have a key focus on student advocacy programmes of work.


The post holder will also nurture and develop relationships and networks with Members, Student Representatives, Officers, SU colleagues, the University and other stakeholders to strengthen the resilience and impact of the student advocacy structures within the Students' Union.


Job Type: Permanent


Salary: from £24,780 to £27,868, plus excellent holidays and contributory pension scheme


Hours: Full time 36.5 hours per week (8.30 am - 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30 am - 3.30 pm Fri).

Flexibility of working hours is reasonably required from time to time to meet the requirements of the post.

This includes occasional evenings and weekends.


Working Location: Warwick SU, Coventry, West Midlands, UK.

Occasional off-site working is required (please note there may be working from home requirements)

Who you are:
You'll have previous experience of working in Higher Education, understanding the current issues facing University students, along with knowledge and experience of working with students and/or young people.


The ideal candidate will have experience of equality and diversity and a positive approach to diversity and equality of opportunity issues.

You will have excellent administrative skills along with the ability to coach and empower others.


It is important that you're able to align yourself with WSU values and can show tact and diplomacy.

You will have strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and be able to liaise effectively with different stakeholder groups
