Interim Head of Estates

Interim Head of Estates - Various campuses across the West Region of Scotland.  - £62,546 per annum / 6 month contract. 

Delighted to be partnering to exclusively recruit an Interim Head of Estates. 

Reporting to : Vice Principal, Operations 

Responsible for: Estate Managers, Catering Manager and Project Manager 

To a deliver a high quality professional Estates and Facility Management service to ensure that the College's physical environment is fit for purpose for all users including, staff, students and visitors. 


Duties and Responsibilities :

To provide overall leadership and operational management of the Estates Function.

- To effectively manage the delivery of all Estates services, including 3 parties, to a high standard across the College.
- To support the development of FM contracts and contractor management
- To motivate and develop the Estates team to build great relationships with external suppliers, making sure contacts are well managed and issues are escalated and resolved as appropriate. 
- To maintain the safety management system for contractors, including induction processes, permits to work, safety plans.
- To support the enhancement of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
- To Support and ensure statutory compliance.
- To ensure that records are created and maintained for each building to demonstrate full operational procedures are adhered to.
- To provide specialist advice and guidance on Estates Management to the Senior Management Team.
- To effectively and efficiently manage office and teaching space to maximise utilisation.
- To drive continuous improvements to Estate Management 
- To contribute to the development and delivery of the annual Estates budget.
- To lead the appropriate development of Estates staff to provide the highest possible quality of service. 


Qualifications and Training 

- Qualified to SCQF level 9 or above in Property Management or Facilities Management or a related subject area.
- Membership of a relevant Professional Body.
- Substantial Estate or Facilities Management experience in a similar role
- Evidence at a Senior level of leading multiple teams.
- Experience of the setting and management of estates management and capital revenue budgets.
- Ability to motivate and develop the team and individuals.
- Experience of internal and external stakeholder management.
- An excellent understanding of Estates related legislation and ability to apply it pragmatically through appropriate policies, procedures and practices.
- Highly developed leadership coaching and management skills.
- Ability to achieve results through others.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to take control of difficult situations.
- Good level of IT skills using Microsoft office.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences.
- Self motivates , flexible and adaptable and positive approach to manage change.
- Team player.
- Able to work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including attendance at evening events / meetings both internal and external to the college as a senior post holder of the college. 
- Qualified to SCQF level 9 or above in Property Management, Facilities Management or a related subject area.
- Membership of a relevant Professional Body.
