BMS Engineer

BMS Engineer - FM Service Provider – Data centre – Canary Wharf - £55,000 per Anum 

I have a fantastic opportunity to work at a prestigious data centre in Canary Wharf.

This role will be best suited for someone in a similar position with experience working in a critical environment preferably a data centre background.



The ideal candidate will be someone with BMS and controls engineering experience.

The daily role will consist of Planned and Reactive Maintenance tasks for all BMS systems including planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, commissioning and installation, including graphics and software.

Hours of work & Package

  • Basic salary £55,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday – 6:00 am – 14:00 pm / 12:00 pm – 20:00 pm rotating weekly
  • 25 Days Holidays + Bank Holidays

Responsibilities
  • Technical Supervision of the operation, maintenance and repair of all critical environment systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems
  • Monitor and respond to BMS & EMS alarms for specific sites.
  • Develop and upkeep all site mechanical and controls and BMS related procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs.

    All documentation should be consistent with current client standards.
  • Escalate any incoming alarms following alarm management matrix updating customer service desk and correct on call handler.
  • Produce clear and concise updates on actions seen and taken from BMS alarms.
  • Be able to remotely reset units and adjust temperatures for sites if requested.
  • To produce weekly Battery Monitoring reports and to oversee and produce "real time" UPS discharge reports during the EMEA UPS maintenance servicing.
  • Assist with providing monthly management report information for customer.
  • Monitoring of Mimic, BMS & Alarm Systems.
  • Reporting of and improvements to incident management.
  • Overview on switching schedules for planned and reactive maintenance and support.
  • Reviewing switching schedules where other internal / external contractors are associated.
  • Maintaining relevant logbooks in accordance with System Control
  • Work in accordance with Technical Manager to ensure alignment with shift teams, attending team briefings.
  • Maintain all BMS controls and equipment at optimal operational level including calibration of all sensors.
Requirements
  • Relevant Technical Certifications (e.g., City & Guilds in Electrical Installation, NVQ in Engineering Maintenance, etc.).
  • BMS Systems Training: Certification or extensive training in BMS systems like Trend, Honeywell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with BMS software platforms, control systems, and programming.
  • Data Centre Experience: Previous experience working in data centres or similar critical environments
  • Strong Technical Background: Deep understanding of BMS and building services
