Senior Compliance Officer - Insurance Sector | £Excellent plus benefits package | Gibraltar



SRGEurope are recruiting an experienced Senior Compliance Office to join an established International Insurance company with an office in Gibraltar.

The Senior Compliance Office will work with the Directors and assist with the guardianship of all compliance, risk and corporate governance frameworks.



Senior Compliance Officer Responsibilities:




  • Preparation of compliance reports for the Audit Committees, Boards and other forums, as required.


  • Escalation of key compliance/regulatory issues to the CEO Risk and Capital Committees and/or Boards.


  • Represent the Compliance function on various forums/working groups.


  • Maintenance of adequate policies, procedures, systems and controls for identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating the risks associated with financial crime


  • To ensure that the insurers' responsibilities for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing are adequately addressed


  • Ensuring any suspicions of financial crime are reported to the relevant competent authority and other regulators where required.


  • Maintenance of open and cooperative relationships with the GFSC and other host state regulators


  • Ensuring that requests from the GFSC and other host state regulators are addressed in a timely manner.


  • Ensuring that regulatory reporting deadlines are met.


  • Review and contribute to ORSAs, SFCRs and other regulatory reports as required.


  • Pro-active monitoring of regulatory landscape and assessment/communication of the impact of changes in regulation on the business.




Senior Compliance Officer Responsibilities:




  • Experience of managing compliance and regulatory risk within a diverse and evolving/changing environment.


  • Extensive experience of liaising with the regulators/statutory bodies essential, GFSC desirable.


  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements applying sound judgement.


  • Demonstrate high standards of integrity


  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.


  • Ability to produce high-quality written reports and other compliance-related materials


  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.


  • Degree educated with ACII and/or other relevant professional qualification preferred.


  • Thorough knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements applicable within the insurance sector in Gibraltar


  • Thorough knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to insurers underwriting risks in the UK, in particular in relation to UK motor insurance business, as well as professional standards and accepted business practices.
