Deputy Director of Care Operations Role


Our client is one of the leading Healthcare Providers that is currently seeking a Deputy Director to support the Director of Operations in providing direction, leadership and management to operational services across the UK.

The successful candidate will be based in Cardiff.

The company provides personalised high quality care and support within care homes, community services and specialist services around the country.

The salary for this fantastic position is up to £90,000 per annum with great additional benefits such as a car allowance.


As the Deputy Director your duties will be:

·         Providing support for the Director of Operations with direction, leadership and management of operational services

·         Implementing strategies and developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators

·         Working with the Commercial Team to assist within the development of strategies for development and acquisition of new services

·         Working with the Director of Compliance and Governance to establish best practice and ensuring fulfilment of applicable contractual Quality and Regulatory Standards

·         Ensuring all services are delivered, monitored and evaluated in line with relevant requirements

·         Ensuring operational services operate with occupancy targets and are profitable and achieve their budget forecasts

·         Researching the Care Market to identify new and best care practices and lead the development of new models of care and support in line with changing needs of the users

·         Responsible for the management and positive development of a range of strategic and operational relationships

·         Liaising regularly with commissioning teams to ensure that the services are being provided in the way intended and identifying any improvements or changes which need to be made

·         Working closely and collaboratively Finance, Organisation Development, Governance, Property, Human Resources and the Director of Nursing, seeking professional advice and support to ensure conformity to regulatory and legal requirements

·         Reporting Health and Safety concerns to your Manager where required


For this role you must have the following criteria:

·         Previous experience as a Service Manager (Essential)

·         Nursing Qualification or NVQ in Care or equivalent(Desirable)

·         Proven track record in improving service quality standards

·         Good understanding of developing business cases, budgets, strategies and policies

·         Outstanding operational management skills and experience

·         Extensive knowledge of current and future challenges facing the care and support sector

·         The ability to manage, motivate and inspire others


To be considered for this role you must have extensive experience in a senior role
